I build businesses where there isn't a playbook yet.

New markets. Partnerships. Channels. Divisions. Revenue.

I'm a business builder with 25+ years of experience taking opportunities that are still a little undefined and turning them into something real.

I do my best work with entrepreneurial companies where initiative, relationships, judgment, and execution matter more than rigid job descriptions.

What I Like to Build

New Markets

Taking a market from “we should be there” to customers, relationships, infrastructure, and revenue.

Strategic Partnerships

Building relationships with dealers, distributors, customers, suppliers, and partners where both sides have a reason to make it work.

New Business Lines

Turning an idea into a real offering with pricing, positioning, channels, customers, and a repeatable way to sell it.

Dealer & Channel Networks

Finding the right partners, creating the structure, and growing without damaging the relationships already in place.

Founder-Led Growth

Working closely with founders and executives when the opportunity is clear but the exact path forward still needs to be figured out.

A Few Things I've Built

Hydrofarm Colorado

Hydrofarm hired me as its first employee in Colorado.

I helped build the operation from the ground up, including an 86,000+ sq. ft. Denver distribution facility and a multi-state customer and channel network.

Regional sales grew from approximately $7M to $24M, and I later managed $40M+ in annual volume across 11 states.

A New Commercial Division

Hydrofarm saw a growing commercial opportunity but didn't yet have a dedicated business around it.

I helped create the division from zero: team, pricing, channel strategy, customer approach, and sales playbook.

The division generated approximately $18M in revenue in 2019.

A New Product Category

At Silicon Mountain Memory, I helped launch a new USB flash-drive division while the category was still emerging.

I also built a six-figure book of business, became the company's top salesperson for three consecutive years, and later led a 24-person sales organization.

Distribution for an Emerging Brand

Through Sensei Sales, I worked with emerging consumer brands that needed help getting into the market.

For Infinitea Kombucha, I helped secure UNFI and regional Whole Foods distribution and grow the business approximately 200% in six months.

An Early-Stage Technology Company

I joined LogRhythm as employee #13 and sold complex enterprise cybersecurity solutions to banks, credit unions, and healthcare organizations.

Different industry. Same appeal: small company, evolving opportunity, and a lot still to build.

Why Van, Overland & Outdoor

I understand the customer because I am one.

I've been living the customer experience for years.

I've been traveling in vans since I was seventeen.

Today, my wife, daughters, dogs, and I travel extensively by Sprinter van throughout the western U.S., Baja, Canada, the Canadian Rockies, Alberta, and British Columbia.

Van travel, camping, mountain biking, snowboarding, outdoor gear, vehicle systems, campgrounds, dealerships, service experiences, and the countless small decisions that make a trip work are part of my actual life.

That is a major reason I'm especially interested in the van, overland, outdoor, adventure, and mobility industries.

I understand the customer because I am one.

What I'm Looking For

Something meaningful that still needs to be built.

I'm most interested in entrepreneurial and growth-stage companies where there is an opportunity that hasn't been fully developed yet.

That might mean entering a new market, developing strategic accounts, building partnerships, growing a dealer or distribution network, launching a new business line, creating a commercial channel, or helping a founder turn an opportunity into a repeatable business.

I'm starting my search with van, overland, outdoor, adventure, and adjacent enthusiast-driven businesses because those industries genuinely interest me.

But industry is secondary to the opportunity. A compelling company, strong people, and an interesting problem to build around matter more to me than having the perfect industry label.

The Last Few Years

Since 2020, I've taken a less traditional path.

Since 2020, I've taken a less traditional path.

I've managed personally owned real estate across Colorado and Virginia, including tenants, contractors, renovations, leasing, maintenance, budgets, and property sales.

My family and I have also spent significant time traveling North America by Sprinter van.

Along the way, I've continued building and experimenting: websites, landing pages, business concepts, AI tools, automation, digital marketing, and low-code technology.

That chapter gave me time with my family, expanded the types of tools I know how to use, and made me much clearer about the kind of work I want to do next.

I'm ready to build again.

Outside Work

Boulder, Colorado

I live in Boulder with my wife, our two daughters, and our dogs.

Outside work, I'm usually traveling, camping, mountain biking, snowboarding, working on something involving our Sprinter, experimenting with technology, or chasing another business idea.

I like people who make things, companies that are still evolving, and situations where there is room to figure things out.

Let's Talk

Building something interesting?

If your company is entering a market, launching something new, developing partnerships, expanding a channel, or trying to turn an opportunity into a real business, I'd like to hear about it.
